Hi, I’m Heather.
I’m a freelance web designer and administrator, virtual assistant, a writer, a former community radio DJ, and media enthusiast. I also have a passion for projects and helping others realize their dreams and potential.
I love all forms of media—books, music, film, television, visual art, podcasts, etc.—and I particularly love helping creators, makers, and entrepreneurs put their best foot forward online. I have been immersed in online culture since the advent of Prodigy message boards, and I continue to be an active participant on both a personal and professional level.
You may know me as the curator and DJ of Radio Oscura on 99.1FM Downtown Radio, which I hosted from October 2015 to October 2022.
I was the co-founder/co-runner of Vampire-Diaries.net, an award-winning fansite dedicated to The Vampire Diaries book series and television show, founded in February 2009 and officially closed in May 2014. I am also co-editor (with Red, my fellow V-D.net co-founder, and Leah Wilson) of A Visitor's Guide to Mystic Falls: Your Favorite Authors on The Vampire Diaries (Smart Pop Books, available in Paperback and on Kindle), featuring essays by a wide variety of Young Adult authors, including Sarah Rees Brennan, Claudia Gray, and many more. I was a regular guest on The Televixen's Vampire Diaries podcast and I Heart TVD Radio, and am featured (along with Red) in Crissy Calhoun's Love You To Death: The Unofficial Companion to The Vampire Diaries (Paperback and Kindle). You can also find me in The Vampire Diaries: The Complete First Season special features (available on DVD and Blu Ray).
I'm also the co-author of Love You To Death - Season 4 and Love You To Death: The Unofficial Companion to The Vampire Diaries - Season 5 (ECW Press) with Crissy Calhoun. I wrote the weekly The Originals In Review column for Vampire-Diaries.net during its inaugural season, freelanced for Alloy Entertainment, and wrote for Portland Book Review and Hybrid Magazine.
I live in Tucson, Arizona, with my husband, our son, two pitbulls, and a lot of books, records, movies, and vintage teapots.
